Today’s article will be not about Immunology or our Immune system. Today’s article will be slightly different than our normal post. A week ago recently my father suffered from Stroke- Brain, he’s good now as we manage to admit him at right time and with proper doctor’s medication he’s good.
I’ll be sharing how you can recognize if person is having stroke or not like symptoms. What will you do in such critical situation. My aim is to let you guys know how you can minimise the damage during such situation and save the love ones. I’m not going to share about what medications to take as appropriate treatment will be given by doctor.
Let’s start today’s post!!!!!!! As always I’ll simplified it in easy way.
So first common question, What is stroke?????
When blood flow to the brain is blocked or there is sudden bleeding in the brain, then there’s a chance of occurring stroke. There are two types of strokes.
When blood flow to the brain is blocked is called an “Ischemic Stroke”. The brain cannot get oxygen and nutrients from the blood. Without oxygen and nutrients, brain cells begin to die within minutes. A stroke that occurs because of sudden bleeding in the brain is called a “Hemorrhagic Stroke”. The leaked blood results in pressure on brain cells, damaging them. A Transient ischemic attack (TIA), often referred to as a “mini-stroke,” is a short-term blockage of blood flow to the brain. It’s often caused by a blood clot that travels from elsewhere in the body to the brain’s blood vessels. Other causes include air bubbles or fatty material. TIAs don’t cause permanent damage, but they are a “warning stroke” that can signal a full-blown stroke. The effects of a TIA last a few minutes to a few hours and fully resolve within 24 hours.
Imagine like water clogging pipe, that is nothing but a stroke. Sometimes water pipe blocked by some unwanted materials, its nothing but “Ischemic stroke” here. When water pipe bursts here it is “Hemorrhagic stroke”. Sometimes small particles are stick to the pipe, here it is nothing but TIA-Transient Ischemic Attack.

A stroke is a medical emergency. A stroke can cause lasting brain damage, long-term disability, or even death.
Now let’s understand how you can identify it or symptoms of stroke:-
Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body
Sudden confusion, trouble speaking, or difficulty understanding speech.
Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes, trouble walking, dizziness, or problems with balance.
Facial paralysis, where your face starts to fall, and you drool or choke.
Sudden severe headache with no known cause.
A stroke is always a medical emergency. EVERY Second Counts! The longer it goes untreated the greater the chance of lasting damage. Time lost is brain lost. Learn to recognize the signs of stroke using the letters F-A-S-T
F – Face Drooping
A – Arm Weakness
S – Speech Difficulty
T – Time to Call ambulance immediately
